When did I leave my body? How many miles can I travel without a soul and still drink in the hatred you left behind?
I see spiders on the floor where I rest my head and they remind me of you. In a constant search, moving, weaving, fearing that the wind might set you off course.
I still cannot believe you when you say that you understand and that the world is flat.
My eyes are closed at the moment remembering the beauty of my mistakes and somehow my hands look older.
I turned around to see my wings you pulled off and cast in the fire. Settling with comfort that you knew I was never so perfect.

I have some beautiful mistakes. Well, only one that I can think of. It was the biggest.
Then the last line about the wings makes me think of my favorite band, The Deftones, and the "Change (In the House of Flies)" song.
